Teaching Feedback

'Those who know, do. Those who understand, teach' Aristotle 384- 322 BC

Archana learnt early in her career the only way to understand a subject truly well, is to teach it. Driven by a passion for learning, she has been teaching from the early years of her career, starting as a medical student where she visited the slums of Mumbai to educate the slum dwellers about contraception and risk of sexually transmitted infections, to present day teaching of dermatology and rheumatology colleagues in London and Cambridge.

She trained medical students in India in dermatology for the all India national entrance examination and has taught dermatology trainees on a national course in UK, preparing them for the dermatology specialist examination.

She is an invited lecturer at the International Institute of Trichologists, South West Dermatology Society, International woman's day seminar for GPs, training courses for GPs and GP trainees and national forums for nurses. She has spoken about biological therapies, chaired meetings and symposiums on the same and will be speaking nationally on the impact of psoriasis on pre- menopause and menopause skin in summer of 2023.

Archana lectures on topics across the spectrum of dermatology - from issues in ethnic skin, hair loss, skin cancers, acne, psoriasis - to latest treatments and trends in dermatology and hair. A hands-on teacher, she has requests from trainees, GPs and local consultants to sit in her hair loss and skin cancer clinics and gain experience.

The following is feedback received by GP trainees at Croydon University at a recently conducted training course in hair loss for primary care physicians.
